Children should not sit at corners at back of buses but sit or stand in front, somewhere not too near the entrance or exit for convenient alighting

Get ready one stop before the alighting point or more before if the stretches of road ahead is quite difficult or if seated further inside the bus, having to maneuver to the front as the bus snakes forward, so as to be near exit or entrance in good time ... Look left for any vehicles coming from the back of the bus which has stopped and as u alight look left, right around too, and safely step on to the "bus-stop".

(Practise nimble neck dancing at home but do be alert on the roads!)

Blogger has ever dropped or alight and at once felt the powerful roar of heavy vehicles passing by.

Choose appropriate bus-stops or even interchanges where one can alight without haste and need not step down too far away from the pavement. If ever on road, move safely up to pavement as soon as possible. Also one should be able to move safely immediately after alighting.

Do not carry too many things. Hang on securely to railings or handles or any available such as seats. Make sure schoolbags are changed regularly when strap and hooks get worn out and will snap anytime. Make sure one or both hands always free to hang on, in case passengers can thrown forward when buses or other vehicles speed, make a sudden turn, move round sharp bends or suddenly brake or stop, etc.

Children should not be the first or last to alight. Bus-drivers should let them alight safely, by stopping not too far from the bus-stop and pavement.
